Trench Coat Buying Tips
Trench coats have been one of the trending fashion pieces in recent years. They're a great trans-seasonal piece for your spring and autumn wardrobe, and the best thing about them is that they don’t go out of fashion!
Here are a few trench coat buying tips when you go shopping for one:
1. Select the shade that complements your skin tone, especially if you want one in the beige colour palette. Natural tones like beige, black, and navy are classic and don't date.
2. Pay attention to the length of the coat. Sometimes, a long coat can look overwhelming on a petite person.
3. The design and the suitability for your shape.
For example, how wide is the collar? Do you prefer a belt? Lined or unlined,
If your body shape is an inverted triangle, it's best to avoid wide lapels so that you do not add more volume to the shoulder area.
If you are in a triangle shape, wide collars are great!
A great trench coat buying tip, if you are rectangular in shape, is to choose one with a belt to give the illusion of a waist.
If you are round shape, wearing your tench open (unbuttoned) will create flattering lines.
Most trench coat styles will suit ladies who have an hourglass shape.
If you're petite, I think trench-coats with minimal fuss (no big lapels or big pockets) are best.
Happy shopping!
